To honour the legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the Father of the Indian Constitution, Class 9 A of Carmel Convent School, Ujjain, conducted a special assembly on April 12, 2025. The programme began with a solemn prayer, followed by soulful songs that set a respectful tone. A thought-provoking skit based on Ambedkar’s message of “Educate, Agitate, and Organise” highlighted significant moments from his life and his tireless efforts to promote social justice, equality, and education for the underprivileged. The “Thought for the Day” reminded students that “cultivation of mind should be the ultimate aim of human existence,” while a graceful dance performance added colour and vibrancy to the occasion.
The assembly concluded with the National Pledge and the National Anthem, inspiring a sense of unity and national pride. Honourable Principal, Dr. Sister Kripa Maria, appreciated the efforts of Class 9 A and their class teacher, Ms. Sarita Menon, for presenting such a meaningful tribute. She also congratulated the achievers of various Olympiads, including the National Science Olympiad (Gold), International English Olympiad, and National Maths Olympiad (Senior and Junior). In another noble initiative, Class 8 students visited a centre for special children in Ujjain, accompanied by Ms. Anjali Kumrawat and Sister Manoneet. The students shared heartfelt experiences of their visit, expressing empathy, joy, and the valuable life lessons they gained through the interaction.
