On 29th
August, Class VIII-B conducted a special prayer service to commemorate National
Sports Day and honour Major Dhyan Chand. The event began with a prayer song,
followed by an English poem and a dance performance titled ‘Udaan’ .Students
Reflected on Sportsmanship and Values . Class teacher Mrs. Mamta Lohani
emphasised the essential mantras for achieving success. The program concluded
with the National Anthem.
Honourable
Principal, Dr. Sister Kripa Maria, praised Class VIII-B for their efforts in
promoting the importance of perseverance, dedication, and hard work, which are
integral to both sports and life.
On National Sports
Day, a marathon race was held alongside a special assembly honouring Major
Dhyan Chand's legacy. In the Boys’ category, Vinayak Bhatt (Candor) won 1st
place, followed by Kartik Joshi (Candor) and Jitendra Malviya (Shalom). In the
Girls’ category, Lakshmi Singh Bisen (Lumen) claimed 1st, with Suhana Rathore
(Lumen) and Twinkle Jadon (Candor) securing 2nd and 3rd. Lumen House emerged as
the overall champion, with Candor and Esher Houses following in 2nd and 3rd
places.
The day truly
celebrated the essence of sports and perseverance, echoing the values that
Major Dhyan Chand exemplified throughout his legendary career.
